Happy Teachers Day!

Today,October 15, 2010 in the Philippines is Momentous and eventful day, for we declare it Teachers' Day - well, as a way to say thank you and recognize our teachers for their important role in the society and most importantly to each and everybody's life.

For me, As I sit in a bus, traversing the EDSA going to work, I smile and recall vividly the faces of my teachers from preparatory to high School, and the Professors who always gave me tons of reason to be proud of them, wherever I may be.

As a CPA, who would have known that Mathematics up to first year was my weakess and hated subject, ever! and non of my angels have told me that it would be my life, that I'd be working with numbers up to my present life, and having a license because of it.

When I was in grade one, I encountered for the first time the very strict teacher and adviser of mine who also, first gave me a failing grade in Mathematics and to cry when finishing Rizal and he is about to leave his Family and to study in Manila. Mrs. Almero, Thank You so much and may your soul rest-in-peace.

When I was in grade 2, that was my first time to be punished inside the room with my pants-off, well it was great because I asked for it! hehehe. kid's stuff and sorts, thank You and God Bless to my class adviser, Mrs Panciles, God Bless You and Your Family.

Having the most of the lessons was in grade 3, where I learned to tell to my crush how I felt for her, well like this writing it in the black board "Leiann, I have crash on you" hehehe. well thank you and God Bless to my class adviser Mrs. Laxamana for everything, I salute you with most honor!

Knowing your teacher to have her colony on the School, means that she's your alas! Having a School Bus Driver, a playmate, a kuya as such. and most to learn hypothetical jokes from her that will really make you laugh, to understand the lesson in Filipino about panghalip, pangalan, panaguri and such, and to knwo valuable lesson on how to respect your fellowmen; thank You to Mrs Bernales, May God bless you and your entire family as they are closed to me as you have been closed to my family.

To Ms Rivera as I always call her, she always inspire me in going to school as she has been the so-called teacher crush during my days in grade 5, thank you for teaching us self-respect and the value of speaking English, I'm deeply sorry that I did not pay attention to you when you are speaking in front. God Bless you and your family, specially your lovely kids! whom you always wish could have qualities like mine. hehehe. thank you so much!

Thank You to my adviser in Grade 6, whom I already forgot her name, I also salute her for opening my mind to society as she always advices us with lessons on how to dwell with our fellowmen and the value of justice and peace, probably one of the reason why sometimes I think politically.

To all the High School Teachers, thank you so much and I love you all!

Thank You aswell to my Professors in College, you are so many to be told, but you will always be part of my life, heart, and my memory! thank you so much and I Love You all!

I would like to give special mention to my Profs and Teachers who are very special and close to me:

1. Mrs. Jeanith Mano-Muelio - you change my life to love numbers
2. Mr. Erwin "Paeng" Rafael - you have been my inspiration in accounting
3. Mr. Samy Raz Ng - Trigonomotry and Algebra has never been hard for me, thank you for giving me the knocks!
4. My High School teacher in english, im deeply sorry I have forgot your name, thank you for making me cry when my head starts to go bigger!
5. Mr. Joseph Lopez, thank you for the history and about Rizal, the fave hero of mine. thank you!
6. To my Accounting Professor's your the best!

UAAP!

When I was reading one of the comments in facebook, I certainly could not agree anymore when they said that UAAP is one of the hottest sports event every year, driven by the media, the UAAP Mens Basketball for Senior Division.

One of the comments there is from the green and gold, who is reacting on the other the comments from the white and blue. a gist of it goes something like this:

Blue and White: lets face reality that unlike UP, Ateneo and La Salle. FEU will not have the best opportunity in having a job after they graduated from college. So sa Finals hinay hinay lang.

Green and Gold: and yabang mu naman, anung job ba sa tingin mo capable ang mga skul na pinagsasabi mo? what other future you may think makikita mo with the way you speak? ang yabang mo!

Well, it is hard to tell and contradict to either party. but guys, let's be reminded that UAAP is only a sporting event. after the final buzzer, win or lose, the pride of its school depends how we, as a student did our part, antebellum and upto the end. Sports is what we, as a person, see it,

kumbaga, walang personalan, sports lang!

God bless to both teams in the UAAP finals, may the true heart of a champion prevails!

Philippine Media The Hostage Culprit!

One of the greatest contributor that led the hostage taking into failure is the Philippine Media. Admit it.

They are just performing their job in covering the hostage taking, and yes they commit one of the greatest mistake in handling the situation.

One of the guidelines in handling a hostage taking is this:

“always assume that the hostage taker, gunman or terrorist has access to the reporting. Avoid describing with words or showing with still photography and video any information that could divulge the tactics or positions of SWAT members. Fight the urge to become a player in any standoff . . . ." (excerpt from Bob Steele's Guidelines in handling hostage crisis, prison uprisings, terrorist action for the media)

There, did you read it clearly. As I can remember, the Philippine Media has divulged all necessary information that the hostage taker needs to know, every position of the Police and the SWAT, all.

Like What Venus Raj said: "its major major mistake" that media of today had done. We may shut our mouth and pretend that all blame is on the police, the SWAT (incompetent SWAT) , and the hostage taker. But you and I and everyone who breath life, knows that media also plays a vital role in covering the hostage crisis, but aren't it right to tell them that they had committed their greatest mistake in history?

Till Debt Do Us Part!

Awwwoooohhh!!!

I have just received my first credit card last Saturday and had it activated yesterday as i returned from San Fernando, La Union.

Is it an advantage or not having a credit card? Well its like The One Ring, in which you will be tempted at all times and one of your defense is self discipline, an attitude being taught to us since childhood.

Well I still have time to manage my finances well, with the aspect of having my self discipline. (there you have it Sherlock!)
As a Start, I will leave my credit card at home, safe and sound from all other temptations! well for a start, and the next step would be to have it on my purse while going shopping. hahaha.

May the credit card spare me from all credit troubles, till Debt do us part!

The Hobbits (or There and Back Again)

The Hobbit (2012)

Yehey!!! According to the sources (the powerful Web) malapit ng ilabas ang movie na about sa pag-tatagpo ng "One Ring" at ng hobbit na sa Bilbo Baggins (ang ninuno ni Gloria) hehehe. at Yun ay ang Pelikulang The Hobbits (Warner Bros. - Rumored Film company to produce)

I actually read the books on my trip to Ilocos, and kung ok lang po sa inyo, e ganto yung kwento: (Spoiler talaga ako!)

Bilbo was contracted by 12dwarves and Gandalf the grey on a mission towards the lonely mountain to defeat smaug the dragon, who stole the treasures of the dwarves. Of which good old Bilbo was marked as a thief! well this was all because of Gandalf labeled him so.

At first it was hard for Bilbo to be the Thief that his comrades expects him to be, even if he is quite quick to move, sharp eyed, and has a keen hearing, for he is not a thief at all!

After finding the ring and escaping Gollum from in misty mountains, who would want to eat him that time, he suddenly became accustomed of being a thief, escaping and being the guide for them.

The book, I do not know about the movie, is packed with adventures that one can imagine. adventures other than defeating the dragon Smaug (they are not the one who defeated Smaug), full of Goblins, Trolls, Wolves, Eagles, Wood-Elves, Warrior, Dwarves, Poisonous Spiders, and of course Middle earth scenery with lots of runes!

Runes is considered as the Roman letter or the Alphabet we are reading right now.

Peter Jackson will direct the Hobbits as rumored director del toro already expressed that he will not direct the hobbits anymore. Ian Mackellen, will be Gandalf the Grey, Hugo Weaving as Elrond, Cate Blanchet as Lady Galadriel, Andy Serkis as Gollum (rumored), Rumored Bilbo baggins are: Toby Maguire, Shia Lebeouf, Sylvester Maccoy, Daniel Radcliff.

Cant wait to watch and add the Hobbits the movie in my collections!

The Hobbit
Or there and Back Again!
(yaahhhoooo!!!!)

ROTC sa Kolehiyo!

Bigla akong nagulat marinig ang balita na ang ROTC ay ibabalik "daw" sa kolehiyo bilang isang mandated course instead of being optional and in replaced of the community service.

Pasintabi, para sa mga hindi nakakaalam ng ROTC, it stands for Reserved Officers' Training Corps na unang na-established dito sa Pinas sa University of the Philippines noong 1912 at ang adhikain nito ay ang pagtrain sa atin sa leadership, problem solving, strategic planning, at professional ethics. (source: Mr Wiki Pedia)

The opinion is not always favorable in all instance of an idea, there will always be pros and cons.

PROS: it would be great to see ROTC back in college as a mandatory course to instill in our students the values of discipline that most of the Pinoys dont possess right now and would greatly help in training our men in terms of emergency, not necessarily war or combat, but like floods and typhoons and other similar events.

This would train Filipinos to be alert and useful in any possible need that may arise.

Which I remember a very distinguish man (Fr. Rev. Reynaldo Jimenez) Education up to secondary is indeed a must for every student that we should not take away from them, but having you tertiary education is a privilege already which you must earned with all your might if your not in a good state - financially. U need to earn it so that you will live by it through your life.

Pero naisip ko palang maraming bata (like me, feeling you always) ang magrereklamo, ayaw kasi mapagod, maarawan, mapawisan, at magalusan.

O anu ba anu ba? ROTC sino ka ba talaga?

PNoy Confidence Rating- 85%

Malufet!

While watching ANC last night, the performance rating of the president-elect NoyNoy Aquino stands at 85% as per rating and survey of PulseAsia. And along the way, two Pinoys were interviewed as to address the report on performance rating, well, as the saying goes you have to see the opinion of both parties and these opinions will attest to their assertions.

Well, opinions goes into both side, the dumb and the wise.

(guess who's the Dumb!)

Man: Lagi naman mataas ang survey rating kapag bago ang Presidente, and eventually goes down as the time of his Presidency transpires. mataas lang talaga ang kay NoyNoy compared to other Presidents, but we'll see if survey's holds true through his term.

haAy. .

(Sigh?!)

Childhood Addictions!

While having a merienda with my Senior (DQL) we had a little chat that fascinated the both of us (and probably students inside the canteen sitting with us). Well, its about childhood memories we've been through.

We talked about how you play with your so-called imaginary friends, hahahah! at kapag may dumaang eroplano palakasan kayo ng sigaw ng mga kalaro mo ng "BAAAA-BBBYYYYEEEE! BAA-BBYYYEEE!" habang kumakaway.

"TADADADADAAAAD!BOOOOOM!"

But the greatest part in which we had our laugh at high is when it comes to anime. the Gundam Wing episodes that was aired at GMA 7 before.

Nakakatuwa tuloy isipin, na dati kasama ko pa sila Heero Yuy, Trowa Barton, Duo Maxwell, Wufei, at Quatre Winner. hahaha

To tell you the truth, nagpapasalamat ako sa kanila kasi pinagamit nila ako ng kanilang mobile suit at sinama sa kanila adventures!

Yaaaahhhhooooo!!!!

F. Sionil Jose (an open letter to NoyNoy)

When i was still experiencing this feeling of dismay for what had happened in the last May election, that cheating on elections and irregularities are now (somehow) was lessen through the automated election, this great joke is being shoved to my face and I feel this great shame (for it was indeed, the truth).

It was proven that the Filipinos are not yet matured enough in choosing candidates while casting their votes last May. It was a shame for I am also, a proud Filipino.

F. Sionil Jose (or Frankie) a Filipino Novelist, writer, and journalist sent to Noynoy an open letter before he was about to take oath. Sir Frankie is one of the Notable Pinoy who is still living and at the age of 85, gained already tons of wisdom from life experiences.

This open letter to Noynoy is almost a double black eye for me, as even he (Sir Frankie) admits the great mistake of the Filipinos and calls Noynoy Presidency as "THE DARKEST PART OF OUR NATION."

Few notes that we may pick-up from his letter are:
1. You are not my choice. . . you have no noble legacy from forbears.
2. Your father collaborated with the Japanese (hukbalahap?)
3.Your father did not leave a legacy because he did not became a president.
4. Your ultimate judge are the poor Filipino people. . .they can be found in your Hacienda Luisita
5. Your Mother, we loved her, she promised us land reform but it never happened, she restores oligarchy through the revolutionary EDSA I.
your MOTHER became PRESIDENT when your FATHER DIED. . .
YOU became PRESIDENT when your MOTHER DIED. . .

I do not want to spoil much of the contents of the open letter. . .
We (I invite all who have a Filipino blood running in their veins) can read the whole letter through this link:

http://www.ellentordesillas.com/?p=11167

Grow up kid, wake up from your slumber, your a Filipino.
NoyNoy "can" be the spark, lets pray for our President and for the nation.
its not only his Job. its OUR job!

SoNA! Malapit Na!

I'm waiting for his first 100 days in office before we make a comment.

Go Pinoys! mabuhay ang lahi ni Andres at Jose!

THE CPA BOARD RESULT

kakaiba talaga ang pakiramdam, sabi nga nila na you can take pride once you passed the CPA Board exam, as it is the most difficult CPA board exam in the Philippines. (well board exam, bot the bar exam, there I made things clear). on top of this, having the most difficult exam, you still have your title at the end of your name. unusual.

To settle things, once and for all, bakit nga ba mahirap ang CPA Board? bakit eto ang kurso where most of the cream of the crop are going. compared to nursing board exam which average about to 70,000 takers per take, as to CPA board exam of 7,000 takers only, ito yung course na malaki ang demand both in the local setting and in the international.

We CPA's do not boast to much of our profession, as we recon other courses as well as part of the society, like once quoted by a sociologist and i quote "we are all part of one society as we partake on different roles of which should not be neglected or the society will be into imbalance."

"I guess it is already happening."

This last board exam, May 2010, is indeed shocking. well I hope and leave it to God the fate of these people as HE knows much better than anyone of us.

as for me, Guys keep on persisting, persist until you suceed!
