20 reasons why I dislike the Philippines

Jimmy Siezka - should be banned (persona non grata).

I like the idea. After he issued a statement of apology, I think it was alright. Anyway, the idea of Jimmy being banned from the Philippines is good for me, just for the sake of my countrymen.

But at the back of my mind. Jimmy was only used to measure the maturity of my countrymen. "Used" to let this third world country realized those part where improvements is needed.

“I’m deeply sorry that I’ve offended some of the people in the Philippines,” he said. “The show is just made to point out obvious things that any other person would acknowledge and say to themselves, or say to their friends, but obviously not take the steps that I took and put it in a video.”

“For those of you that think that this video was made to show my hate for the Philippines, I must say that you are sadly mistaken,” he added. “I’m just stating the obvious in an unconventional way in order to spark change. Never once did I use the word ‘hate’ in this piece. I simply pointed out issues that have been overlooked for quite some time.” - Jimmy Siezka.

Years under the colony of Spaniards, Americans and Japanense, the Philippines is very defensive from negative comments of foreigners. But never have done so much to help itself, improve and be successful. I am still hopeful, that Jimmy can spark a bit, so Filipinos, or the indios during the Spanish era, can lit a bonfire for this country to be progressive. I am still hopeful for this Country whose culture is already tarnish. Know thyself.

The Press is Free in the Philippines

It was in late August 2010 that I have received the order from my supervisor that I am to be assigned in Urdaneta, Pangasinan.

It was just few days since Quirino Grandstand Hostage Crisis which was aired globally. It was pain in my throat, but still I have to swallow the shame of having this crisis being a Filipino. Proud Filipino.

My two weeks stay in Urdaneta Pangasinan, caught my attention to the Philippine Free Press Magazine. It was featured in one of its article about the topic, the bile in my stomach - the Quirino Grand Stand Massacre.

To keep the story short, this Magazine wake my inner thoughts and still makes me proud being a Filipino. Finally, Just today, I finally saw the Philippine Free Press online.

For those who love reading, you may learn more about the Philippines by going in the above website. For my fellow Filipinos, be proud and be one in helping me support the Philippine Free Press.

Not just the weekly magazine itself, let's help the press in the Philippines to be entirely free.

Well, the incident in the Quirino Grandstand, I am not taking it from the press, but I believe they have played the vital role in giving blow by blow account of the hostage.

My First Epub

Finally, I was able to publish my first EPub.

Let me tell you how I did it.

These are the applications I used in publishing my first epub.
1. Calibre Free ebook Management. Downloaded free from - http://calibre-ebook.com/
3. Step-by-step tutorial from http://www.unrulyguides.com/
4. I also usedePubFixer v1.5.2 to layout chapter a little sophisticated.
Well, this is my first time and it took me around 5 hours to finished one ebook, it has 137 chapters, and 5 extra chapters for author's note, facts of the books, prologue, about the author and his acknowledgments.

Well, other than blogging, I think I now have something new to add in my hobbies and skills, something to be stored in my repertoire of knowledge to be shared someday with the young people.

To God be the glory.
